Admission for the academic year 2023-24 and reporting is going on



Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means (SVMCM) Scholarship:

Government of West Bengal introduces this schemefor assistance to the meritorious students belonging to economically backward families in the State of West Bengal to pursue higher studies. The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme has been thoroughly revamped in the year 2016 to cover more number of students as well as to enhance the scholarship amounts significantly.


  • Students should pass Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examination in the year 2023 or 2022 or 2021 (unable to get admission in the year 2022 or 2021 due to unavoidable reasons and taking admission in the 2023) with at least (a) 60% marks in aggregate in the last qualifying examination
  • The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs.2,50,000/- per annum


Students pursuing Engineering Courses are provided with scholarship of Rs. 5000/- per month (Rs. 60,000/- per year)

West Bengal Student Credit Card (WBSCC) Scheme:

The Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal has introduced the Student Credit Card Scheme for the students of West Bengal to enable them to pursue education without having any financial constraints.


  • A student from West Bengal can avail a maximum loan of Rs. 10 lakhs at very nominal simple interest from Public/ Private Sector Banks. 1% interest concession will be provided to borrower if the interest is fully serviced during the study period.
  • The repayment period shall be fifteen (15) years for any loan availed under this Scheme including the Moratorium/ repayment holiday.
