Government of West Bengal introduces this schemefor assistance to the meritorious students belonging to economically backward families in the State of West Bengal to pursue higher studies. The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme has been thoroughly revamped in the year 2016 to cover more number of students as well as to enhance the scholarship amounts significantly.
Students pursuing Engineering Courses are provided with scholarship of Rs. 5000/- per month (Rs. 60,000/- per year)
The Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal has introduced the Student Credit Card Scheme for the students of West Bengal to enable them to pursue education without having any financial constraints.
